Obituary of Rocco A. Puccio

Rocco A. Puccio died Thursday, January 23, 2020, at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 95. Born in Corning, New York to the late Giovanni and Antonia (Briguglio) Puccio, he lived in New Brunswick before moving to North Brunswick in 1965. He was an artist for the Home News Tribune in New Brunswick for 35 years before retiring in 1992. Mr. Puccio was a communicant of St. Mary of Mount Virgin R.C. Church in New Brunswick. He was a member of the North Brunswick Italian American Club, the North Brunswick Senior Citizens and was a committeeman for the North Brunswick Democratic Club. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the 16th Armored Division during World War II. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sister Antoinette Puccio and his brother Frank Puccio. Surviving are his wife Rose (Previte) Puccio; his daughter Mary Ann Puccio; his son John Puccio and his wife Lucille; his brother Samuel Puccio; his granddaughter Bevin Gwiazdowski; two great grandsons – Thomas and James; and many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, January 30, 2020, at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Funeral services will be 9:45 AM Friday from Selover Funeral Home followed by a 10:30 AM Mass at St. Mary of Mt. Virgin Church in New Brunswick. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in New Brunswick.
