Dorothy E. (Hallock) Garland died Thursday, May 4, 2017, at The Elms of Cranbury. She was 88.
Born in Newark, she lived in North Brunswick for most of her life. She was a secretary at Triangle Conduit and Cable Company in New Brunswick for 20 years and then a bookkeeper at Lease Line, Inc. in North Brunswick for five years before her retirement in 1993.
Mrs. Garland was a member of the B.P.O. Elks #2370 in East Brunswick and the Bag Ladies Crafts Club. She was very active in the reunion committee of the New Brunswick High School Class of 1945.
Her husband George I. Garland died in 1993. Surviving are her son Glenn I. Garland and his wife Karen A. of Cranbury; her brother Robert Hallock and his wife Nancy of Pickens, South Carolina; three grandchildren – Heather Christopher of Cranbury, Glenn Garland, Jr. of West Windsor and Danielle Hemperly of East Windsor; and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Sunday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
