Obituary of Veronica M. Pugliese

Veronica M. Pugliese, 90, passed away peacefully at her home in North Brunswick, NJ on July 17, 2017. Known as Ronnie to her friends, she was born and raised in Woodbridge, NJ. She graduated from Woodbridge High School and later from Katherine Gibbs School in New York City. Veronica was employed as an executive secretary at ASARCO in Perth Amboy, where she met her future husband of 61 years, Ralph Pugliese. In 1955 they settled in North Brunswick to raise their three children. After many years as a homemaker, she returned to work with her husband and sons at Accutest Laboratories in Dayton, NJ. Veronica was an avid bridge player and enjoyed getting together with her friends for bridge parties. More often than not, she would leave with first prize. She loved to attend estate sales and purchase antique furniture that she refinished and proudly displayed in her home. Perhaps her favorite pastime was knitting handmade outfits and sweaters for her children and grandchildren. Over the years she created many beautiful pieces. During the summer months she could often be found at the beach taking long leisurely walks searching for shells and seaglass. She is predeceased by her husband Ralph and her parents William and Henrietta Plisko. She is survived by her children, Ralph J. Pugliese Jr. and his wife Laura of Princeton; Vincent J. Pugliese and his wife Lori of Montgomery Twp.; Nance J. Russo and her husband Vince also of Montgomery Twp. and her sister, Irma Pride of Anoka, MN. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Paul, Melissa, Vincent, Cassie, Brett, Lana, Lindsay and Molly, and three great-grandchildren, Michael, Makenna and Poppy. Visitation hours will be 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at the Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Funeral services will be held at 9:15 AM on Friday, July 21, 2017 also at the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 AM Mass at Saint Mary of Mount Virgin Church in New Brunswick. Entombment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick.
