Obituary of Robert J Vigilante

Robert J. Vigilante died Friday, August 4, 2017, at his home in Edison. He was 66.
Born in New Brunswick to the late Robert P. and Rose (Nicewicz) Vigilante he lived in North Brunswick before moving to Edison 45 years ago. He was a carpenter with the Carpenters' Local #1006 in Milltown for 45 years before retiring in 2011.
Robert was an avid fisherman and crabber. He coached and managed softball teams for the Edison Angels for many years.
Surviving are his wife Shelley (Halper) Vigilante; three daughters – Beth Vigilante-Hansen of Edison, Michelle Platt and her husband Scott of Brick and Christine Vigilante of Edison; two brothers – James Vigilante and his wife Ellen of South Carolina and Joseph Vigilante and his wife Patricia of Pennsylvania; his sister Patricia Shukaitis and her husband Alan of PA; and seven grandchildren – Ryan Vigilante, Nicholle and Samantha Hansen, Gianna and Cameryn Platt and Emma and Andrew Perone.
Funeral services will be 9:15 AM Tuesday from Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick followed by a 10:00 AM Mass at St. Mary of Mount Virgin RC Church in New Brunswick. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Monday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, 195 Little Albany Street, New Brunswick, NJ 08903-2681
