Anthony J. Mantarro died Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 97.
Born in New Brunswick he lived in Highland Park before moving to Springhill Assisted Living in Somerset three years ago. He was a supervisor at Bristol Myers Squibb in New Brunswick where he worked for 45 years before retiring in 1982.
Mr. Mantarro was a communicant of St. Mary of Mount Virgin R.C. Church in New Brunswick. He served in the United States Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
He was predeceased by his son Anthony J. Mantarro, Jr. Surviving are his wife Adelaide (Palombi) Mantarro; a daughter-in-law Linda Mantarro of Englewood, Florida; his sister Carmela Senko of New Jersey; three grandchildren – Russell Mantarro and his wife Kristy of Camp Denison, Ohio, Nicole Gonzalez and her husband Marvin of Highland Park and Regina Stanley and her husband John of North Brunswick; and seven great grandchildren – Sebastian, Natalie, Diego, Scarlett, Matthew, Wesley and Elizabeth.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Friday at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in New Brunswick. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Thursday (today) from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
