Obituary of Genevieve R Buttitta

Genevieve R. "Joan" (Santilla) Buttitta died Saturday, March 30, 2018, at Park Place Center in South Brunswick. She was 82. Born in New Brunswick to the late Louis and Josephine (Ruperto) Santilla, she was a graduate of St. Peter's High School in New Brunswick. She lived in Kendall Park before moving to North Brunswick. She worked as the cafeteria manager at South Brunswick High School for over 15 years before retiring in 1995. Mrs. Buttitta was a communicant of St. Mary of Mount Virgin R.C. Church in New Brunswick. She was a member of the St. Peter's Novena Group. Her husband Vincent J. Buttitta died in 2005. Surviving are two daughters – Rosalie Berardo and her husband Chris of North Brunswick and Louise Shennard and her husband Dennis of Hightstown; her son Mariano "Mike" Buttitta and his wife Patty of Monmouth Junction; and eight grandchildren – Michaela and Joe Shennard, Vincent, Salvatore and Anthony Berardo and Mike, Katie and Amanda Buttitta. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. The funeral will be 9:15 AM Wednesday from Selover Funeral Home followed by a 10:00 AM Mass at St. Mary of Mt. Virgin Church in New Brunswick. Committal will follow in Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick.
