Adelaide Mantarro died Thursday, May 31, 2018, at Spring Hills Assisted Living in Somerset. She was 96.
Born in New Brunswick she lived in Highland Park before moving to Somerset four years ago. She was a seamstress and worked at Scharf Clothing Company in South River before her retirement.
Mrs. Mantarro was a communicant of St. Mary of Mount Virgin R.C. Church in New Brunswick. She was a member of St. Paul's Senior Citizens Club in Highland Park and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Highland Park First Aid Squad. She was a longtime volunteer at St. Peter's Hospital in New Brunswick.
Her husband Anthony J. Mantarro died in 2017. She was also predeceased by her son Anthony J. Mantarro, Jr. Surviving are her daughter-in-law Linda Mantarro of Englewood, Florida; three grandchildren – Russell Mantarro and his wife Kristy of Camp Denison, Ohio, Nicole Gonzalez and her husband Marvin of Highland Park and Regina Stanley and her husband John of North Brunswick; and seven great grandchildren – Sebastian, Natalie, Diego, Scarlett, Matthew, Wesley and Elizabeth.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Monday at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in New Brunswick. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Sunday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
