Obituary of Rev. Dr. John W. Hayward

Rev. Dr. John W. Hayward passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at his home in East Brunswick. He was 87 years old.

 

Reverend Hayward was born in Keene, NH and he has lived in East Brunswick for 44 years. He was the pastor of the First Baptist Church of New Brunswick since 1974. Reverend Hayward graduated Marshal University, Huntington VA, studied at Andover Newton Theological Seminary and received his Doctorate degree at New College, Edinburg Scotland. He was a member of the New Brunswick Kiwanis Club where he was the past president, treasurer and a secretary. He was active in the Salvation Army, served on the advisory boards at UMDNJ, Family Services of Middlesex County and he served on numerous boards and charities in Middlesex County.

 

Reverend Hayward is pre deceased by his wife Carolyn B. (Browning) Hayward in 2002 and his parents Harold H. and Chloe C. (Bolles) Hayward and a sister Annie Cottle.. He is survived by his two children – Susan M. Stokes (William), of Monroe; and John Bryan Hayward (April) of Highland Park, and their children Amanda (Adam) and Oliver.

 

Friends may visit at Selover Funeral Home 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick, on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 from 7:00PM to 9:00PM Funeral Service will be on Wednesday June 20, 2018 at 11:00AM at Selover Funeral Home services will be at the First Baptist Church of New Brunswick at 12:00PM. Interment will be in Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick
