Obituary of Carmela Arico

Carmela (Arno) Arico died Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at her home in North Brunswick. She was 92. Born in Condro, Sicily, Italy to the late Filippo and Maria (Parisi) Arno, she lived most of her life in North Brunswick. She worked as a seamstress at the Kolback Company and was supervisor of the cafeteria at North Brunswick Township High School for many years. Mrs. Arico was a communicant of St. Mary of Mount Virgin R.C. Church in New Brunswick and was a member of the church's Altar Rosary Society and St. Ann Society since its inception in 1947. She was a charter member of the North Brunswick Italian American Club, a member of the North Brunswick Pioneers Club and the ASLF. She was predeceased by her husband Anthony Arico, Sr. in 2015; her daughter Anne Marie Arico in 2016; and a great granddaughter Danielle Arico. Surviving are eight children – Mary Antoinette Denaster and her husband James of Lake Suzy, Florida, Nicholas Arico and his wife Kathy of North Brunswick, Theresa Goodhart and her husband Michael of Canton, Michigan, Anthony Arico, Jr. and his wife Heike of Seaside Park, Bernadette Arico of Old Bridge, Joseph Arico and his wife Andrea of Bayville, John Arico and his wife Anna of Bedford and Joanne Arico of Kendall Park; 22 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 9:15 AM Saturday from Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road followed by a 10:00 AM Mass at St. Mary of Mt. Virgin Church in New Brunswick. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in New Brunswick. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Friday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flower contributions may be made to St. Mary of Mt. Virgin R.C.
