Obituary of Joan Fuentes

Joan (Kertesz) Fuentes died Saturday, July 7, 2018, at JFK Medical Center in Edison. She was 87. Born in South River to the late Julius R. And Eva Catherine (Freehan) Kertesz she lived in New Brunswick and North Brunswick before moving to the Heritage at Clara Barton Assisted Living in Edison four years ago. She worked as a cashier at Grand Union Supermarket in North Brunswick for 15 years before retiring in 1985. Her husband Enrique "Ricky" Fuentes died in 2017. Surviving are two sisters Sandra M. Dudas of Bellflower, California and Gladys Weidemann of St. Petersburg, Florida; her brother Richard Kertesz of Massachusetts; and nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Thursday at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Burial will follow in Van Liew Cemetery in North Brunswick.
