Obituary of Joseph P. Sellari

Joseph P. Sellari died Friday, August 3, 2018, at his home in Monroe Township. He was 80. Born in Newark he was raised in Kearny and was a graduate of Kearny High School. He lived in North Brunswick for many years before moving to Monroe five years ago. Mr. Sellari was a hairdresser and owner of Sellari's Hair Gallery in North Brunswick for over 20 years. After retirement he was owner of My Favorite Muffin in Millburn, Edison and North Brunswick and later Bagel Fresh in North Brunswick. Mr. Sellari was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church in North Brunswick. He was a member of the Adams Athletic Club and was involved in the early beginnings of North Brunswick Little League. He was predeceased by his first wife Theresa (Klemas) Sellari in 1990. Surviving are his wife Christina (Bailey) Sellari; three sons – Joseph Sellari, Jr. and his wife Andrea of Monroe Township, Robert and his wife Donna of Millstone Township and Anthony and his spouse Max of Berkeley, California; his daughter Samantha Li and her husband Zezhi "JJ" of East Brunswick; two stepsons – Sean McLaughlin and his wife Lauren of Howell and Matthew McLaughlin and his wife Tori of Provo, Utah; two sisters – Tootsie Latini of Toms River and Sallyann Sprague and her husband Robert of North Arlington; his brother Anthony Sellari of Brick; and three grandchildren – Michael, Jamie and Nicholas. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Funeral services will be 9:15 AM Tuesday from Selover Funeral Home followed by a 10:00 AM Mass at Our Lady of Peace Church in North Brunswick. Private cremation will follow.
