Obituary of Viviano S. Martin

Viviano Martin died Friday, August 31, 2018 at his home in Franklin Park. He was 85. Born in New Brunswick to the late Bonifacio and Catalina (Sanchez) Martin, he lived in Franklin Park for most of his life. He graduated in June of 1952 from Princeton High School where he was active in the Future Farmers of America. He entered the United States Naval Reserve while in high school and remained in the reserve for eight years. Mr. Martin married Elizabeth J. Goeke in August of 1952 and worked at Triangle Conduit and Cable in New Brunswick before becoming a barber, owner/operator of V. Martin Trucking Company and a successful laundromat owner. After his mother's death in 1980 Viviano became sole caregiver for his ailing father who died in 1989. He and his wife enjoyed boating and camping and shared many adventures throughout the country. He was a life member of Kingston Volunteer Fire Company #1. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his grandson Kyle. Surviving are his wife Elizabeth; two daughters – Karen Yates and her husband Michael of Minden, Nevada and Monica Westlund of Aurora, Colorado; his son Juan Martin and his wife Dr. Elizabeth Sauter of Wilton, Connecticut; nine grandsons, a granddaughter, two great grandsons, a great granddaughter and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, September 8, 2018, at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Kingston Volunteer Fire Company, PO Box 222, Kingston, NJ 08528-0222.
