Obituary of Joseph P. Pinizzotto

Joseph P. Pinizzotto, Jr. died Monday, September 17, 2018, at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 91. Born in St. Benedict, Pennsylvania to the late Joseph and Mary (Filoramo) Pinizzotto, he was raised in North Brunswick and lived there before moving to East Brunswick in 1951. He was a truck driver for Pinizzotto Trucking Company and North Brunswick Construction Materials in North Brunswick for over 50 years before his retirement. Mr. Pinizzotto served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of the North Brunswick Italian American Club, the Sgt. John Basilone Italian American Club in South River and the American Legion. He was predeceased by his wife Eleanor (Balint) Pinizzotto in 1995; his son Joseph G. Pinizzotto in 2008; and his sister Santa Molnar in 2013. Surviving are his daughter Carole Pinizzotto of East Brunswick; two brothers – Marty Pinizzotto and his wife Rose of South Bound Brook and Anthony Pinizzotto of North Brunswick; two sisters – Rose Toth of North Brunswick and Katie Severino of Candia, New Hampshire; his sister-in-law Marion Gilliland of Cream Ridge; two grandchildren – Stephanie Alfano and her husband Frank and Robert Halmo; a great granddaughter Apiphany-Ann "Pippy" Alfano; and many loved nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park in South Brunswick. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
