Obituary of Despina Bourlioufas

Despina Bourlioufas, passed on Saturday, November 17, 2018, at Merwick Rehabilitation Center, Plainsboro, surrounded by her family. She was 86 years old. Mrs. Bourlioufas was born in Lemnos, Greece. She came to the United States in 1969. She lived in New Brunswick before moving to Highland Park. She lived in Highland Park for 36 years before moving to Plainsboro Township a couple of years ago. She was an assembly worker for 15 years at the United Nesco Corporation, New Brunswick and she retired in 1989. In Lemnos, Greece she owned and operated a sewing factory. Mrs. Bourlioufas was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who always put the needs of others before herself. She loved to sew and spend time with her family. She lived a simple and happy life with her husband of 66 years. Mrs. Bourlioufas is predeceased by her husband Antonios in 2016; parents Nicholas and Elizabeth (Tsikouris) Kalatzis; her brother Dimitris Kalatzis; her sister Theodora Camamis and her son-in-law Michael Kanterakis. She is survived by her three daughters - Malama (Sotiris) Grekos of Edison; Chrisanthe Kanterakis of Monroe Township; Elizabeth (Panagiotis) Badunos of Totowa; a brother Sozos (Andromahi) Kalatzis of Florida; five grandchildren – Theodore (Anastasia), Despina, Irene (John), Anthony and Maria Despina; three great grandchildren Michael, Melina and Nicolas. Funeral services will be Tuesday November 20, 2018 at 11:30 AM at Saint George's Greek Orthodox Church, 1101 River Road, Piscataway. Visitation will be Tuesday, in the church from 9:30 AM till 11:30 AM, Interment will follow in Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick. Arrangement are by the Selover Funeral Home, 555 George's Road, North Brunswick.
