Obituary of Joseph J Romeo

Joseph J. Romeo, Sr. died Saturday, December 29, 2018, at his home in Kendall Park. He was 92.
Born in the Bronx, New York to the late Vincenzo and Nancy Anne Romeo, he lived in Kendall Park for the past 57 years. He was a brakeman for the Pennsylvania Railroad (which became Conrail and finally Amtrak) in New York and New Jersey for 35 years before retiring in 1986. He was also a linesman for the Pennsylvania Railroad tugboats.
Mr. Romeo was a member of the South Brunswick Senior Citizens. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served in World War II.
His wife Mary Ann (Ricciardi) Romeo died in 1997. He was also predeceased by a sister Margie Marzano; and two grandchildren –Michael Anthony Snedeker and Mario Santo Lombardo. Surviving are four daughters – Nancy Romeo Snedeker of Spring Hill, Florida, Mary Jo Romeo Lombardo of Deerfield Beach, FL, Connie Romeo-Bell of Spring Hill, FL and Suzanne Romeo-Bahmer of Delray Beach, FL; his son Joseph J. Romeo, Jr. of Advance, North Carolina; a sister Vita Shattuck of Westfield, Pennsylvania; 11 grandchildren – Jack Snedeker, Jr., Cindy Marie Snedeker-Fay, Jo Lynn Romeo, Nicholas Romeo, Anthony Lombardo, Nadina Lombardo-Nero, Anna Marie Pardo, Marion Pardo, DJ Pardo, Gino DeFalco and Anthony DeFalco; and 12 great grandchildren – Maria Anne Krieg, Angelo Frattura, Jaclyn Snedeker, Aurora Fay, Erianna Fay, Michaela Fay, Lucus Romeo, Alina Nero, Mason Lombardo, Mia Lombardo, Ellie Romeo and Levi Romeo.
Visitation will be 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Thursday at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. A funeral service will be held 10:30 AM Friday at Selover Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park in South Brunswick.
