Obituary of Mary Katherine Captain

Mary "Katherine" (Theofilos) Captain made her transition to heaven on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at JFK Medical Center in Edison. She was 87. Born in Newark to the late Gus and Pota (Pantos) Theofilos, she lived in Edison since 1955. She worked at RCA, was a cashier at the family owned business and finished her career as a dietary technician at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick with her retirement in 1985. She loved to garden, sew, cook, draw and listen to music, but most of all she loved being a mom. She will be sadly missed but will live in the hearts of those she loved. Her husband of 60 years, George Captain, Sr. died in 2013. She was also predeceased by two sisters - Christine and Irene; her brother Bill; her son George Captain, Jr.; and her grandson Michael Captain. Surviving are twin daughters – Christine Perrine and her husband James and Patricia Captain; her son Jeffrey Captain and his significant other Lori Thompson; daughter-in-law Kathleen Captain; grandchildren – Tiffany, Sarah and Christopher; and niece Georgene. Visitation will be 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon on Monday at Selover Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Van Liew Cemetery in North Brunswick.
