Obituary of C. "Doris" Barrall

C. Doris (Curren) Barrall died Thursday, January 17, 2019, at JFK Medical Center in Edison. She was 84. Born in New Brunswick to the late Arthur T.H. and Catherine E. (Blauvelt) Curren, she lived in East Brunswick before moving to Edison in 1969. Along with her late husband, Charles, she co-owned Edison Friendly Service Station. Mrs. Barrall was a member of the Raritan Valley Baptist Church in Edison where she was a member of the Hospitality Committee as well as other committees. She served as an organist at several area churches including Raritan Valley Baptist Church in Edison and First Baptist Church in Metuchen. She was a member of the Edison Garden Club for several years. She had a servant's heart. Her husband, Charles D. Barrall died in 2011. She was also predeceased by her daughter Sue-Anne Machemer. Surviving are her daughter Sharon Barrall of Edison; her son Charles D. Barrall, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Mays Landing; her son-in-law George Machemer of Aston, Pennsylvania; her sister Helen Scaletti and her husband Aurellio "Ray" of Pitman; nine grandchildren – Allison Faust and her husband Bradley, Lauren Machemer and her boyfriend Mark Wright, Amanda Raymond and her fiancé T.R. Johnson, Andrew Machemer, Chad Barrall, Montana Barrall, Scott Sarfert, Stephen Sarfert and Tyler Sarfert; and two great grandchildren – Ethan and Rebecca Faust. Visitation will be 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday at Raritan Valley Baptist Church, 592 Old Post Road, Edison, NJ 08817. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday at Raritan Valley Baptist Church. Entombment will follow in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens in Woodbridge. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Raritan Valley Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick.
