Gerald’s family: I'm so sorry for your loss. I went through a similar situation and I was very helped by the hope that I found in the Bible in John 5:28, which says, "Do not amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". I am sending you a link with more information on this hope.

To the Family:
My sympathy goes to all of you during your time of grief. Know that God (Psalm 83:18) is aware of the pain you are feeling at this time and he cares for you. Look to His word for comfort, because he promises at Isaiah 66:13, “Like a man whom his own mother keeps comforting, so I myself shall keep comforting you people.” One way in which he comforts us is by providing a wonderful hope for those of our love ones who have died, Acts 24:15 says, “... there shall be a resurrection of the dead...”. His word never fails. John 17:3

"The span of our life is 70 years, Or 80 if one is especially strong."(Psalms 90:10) Your loved one lived a long and blessed life. God promises to restore our loved ones back to us by means of a resurrection. Acts 24:15 says "There is going to be a resurrection." May this hope help to console you and give you the strength to keep going. My condolences."

The times we spent with Gerry in Port St. Lucie leave us with fond memories.
Especially the St. Patrick's Day parties he and Marion had. We have yet to have a better Irish Coffee then the ones Gerry made!
We offer our sincere condolences to Marion and his children and grandchildren.
May your many memories sustain you in the days ahead.

Jerry and Marion have been our dearest friends and more like family for almost 54 years. Marion and I met when we started as new teachers at New Brunswick High School. Jerry, a more experienced teacher, helped us get adjusted. Soon they were dating and we went on double-dates and began a lifelong friendship. We have always been at each other's family events. Our children call them Uncle Jerry and Aunt Marion. We made many family memories together at the beach, at Phillies Games, and front row seats for our whole family at Jerry's musicals at Hillsborough High. We always enjoyed Jerry's stories and his dramatic way of telling them, his endless knowledge about the theatre, movies and music, his quit wit, his vitality and warmth. We admired his faith in God, his devotion to family, his integrity, his kindness and his respect for everyone. Jerry exemplified what it means to be a true friend, a friend who we will truly miss.

'Mr. Fitzgerald' was my Civics teacher at NBHS many, many years ago. He is one of the few teachers that remains vivid in my memory, a tribute to his personality and effectiveness. His sense of humor towards that dry subject and especially life in general was so welcome.
My prayers and condolences to his Family...

My deepest condolences to Jerry's family on his passing. This is, indeed, a tremendous loss to all of us who knew and loved Jerry. Jerry was truly one of those unforgettable characters who entered into your thoughts and heart as soon as you met him. We will always remember Jerry and his theatrical brilliance as we worked on the major New Brunswick High School production known as "THE FACULTY FROLICS". Wonderful memories of a wonder man!
May Jerry's family be comforted by the many years of happy and loving memories they carry within their hearts. My thoughts and prayers are with Marion and the family during this extremely difficult time.

We had the great privilege to have lived across the street from Jerry and Marion in sunny Florida. It was always a pleasure to see and of course hear Jerry singing out loud any time he was outside. We loved seeing him wearing his Giants jacket so proudly.
We also knew Jerry was proud to have served his country and we thanked him for his service.
God bless Marion and the Fitzgerald family. Jerry was a great man and will be missed.

I had the pleasure of meeting Jerry and Marian when they first became Florida snowbirds over 20 years ago. Lots of shared memories - travel, parties (who could ever forget the Irish coffee Jerry presented to us all!), and stories along the way as the six grandchildren came into their lives!
Memories of Jerry will always bring a smile; from bada boom bada bing to his cheerful snippets of song - he always had a pleasing way - sincere condolences to the entire Fitzgerald Family - in our hearts Jerry will continue to be with us all.

Although I never met Gerry personally, I came to know him through Marion, his wife and my colleague and friend at NBHS. It was obvious that the love of her life not only made the world a better place for their family, but also influenced those who called him teacher. Memories give all who are gone an everlasting life. May the show go on forever in heaven...

Mr. Fitzgerald was my history teacher at NBHS in 65. He made history a fascinating subject to me. I never had heard he married Ms Brown - she was my history teacher there also! My deepest condolences to her and to their family - he was an unforgettable person, who gave me a lifelong interest in people as making history, which spurred me to make it my major in college, both he and his spouse as well. Just one of many, I would wager.

I was fortunate enough to work with Jerry at Hillsborough High School for many years. His musical productions which involved the whole school were FABULOUS! I was also fortunate to see Jerry in his favorite role as Eliza Dolittle’s father one summer. He was such a talented, energetic man who was also a very loyal friend. Rest In Peace, Jerry!

Dear Aunt Marion, Mary Kate, Doug and family,
I am deeply saddened at the passing of Uncle Jerry. I can honestly say I never saw him without a smile on his face and joy in his stories of his childhood with his brother and sisters on Clerk Street. It is hard to believe they are all together now in heaven with their parents. May God bless Uncle Jerry and all who knew and loved him.
Lovingly,
Filomena
