Obituary of Joan T Trautwein

Joan (Treiber) Trautwein died Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at her home in Belle Mead. She was 78. Born in Newark to the late William and Blanche (Zeleski) Treiber, she lived in Irvington before moving to Belle Mead in 1972. She was a secretary at Great West Life Insurance in Newark and Xerox Corporation in Mountainside before retiring in 1975. Joan was an expert quilter and seamstress and was a member of the American Quilters Society. She always looked forward to vacationing with her family on Long Beach Island. Surviving are her husband of 53 years John J. Trautwein; two sons – Erich J. Trautwein and his wife Suzanne of Pennington and Christopher J. Trautwein and his wife Cynthia of Hillsborough; two brothers - William Treiber and his wife Paula and Stephen Treiber and his wife Victoria, all of Lake Louisa, Virginia; two granddaughters who were the loves of her life – Julia R. and Valerie R. Trautwein; three nieces and four nephews and their families; and her longtime friend Nancie Mattice of Randolph. Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in Rocky Hill Cemetery in Rocky Hill.
