Obituary of Marita Heffernan

Marita Heffernan died Sunday, January 17, 2021, at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick. She was 75. Born in New Brunswick to the late Albert J. and Stephanie J. (Kokoszka) Heffernan, she lived in Atlanta, Georgia for many years before returning to Milltown. She was a regional human resources specialist for Boy Scouts of America in North Brunswick and Atlanta for 40 years before retiring in 2010. Miss Heffernan was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes R.C. Church in Milltown. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brother James J. Heffernan; and her nephew Kevin Heffernan. Surviving are her brother John Heffernan of Milltown; sister-in-law Betty Lou Heffernan of Ponte Verde Beach, Florida; nephew Brian Heffernan of Wilton, Connecticut; and great nieces and great nephew Beth and Mandy Heffernan and J.T. Heffernan. Private funeral services with burial in Holy Cross Burial Park in South Brunswick were under the direction of Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick.
