Obituary of Josephine F. Zancanella

Josephine F. (Amoroso) Zancanella died Thursday, January 21, 2021, at her home in North Brunswick. She was 98. Born in New Brunswick to the late Joseph and Caterina (Prestifilippo) Amoroso, she lived in New Brunswick before moving to North Brunswick 67 years ago. She had worked as a secretary for Bristol Myers Squibb in New Brunswick until 1955. Mrs. Zancanella was a lifelong communicant of St. Mary of Mount Virgin R.C. Church in New Brunswick. She graduated from St. Mary's School and was a member of the church's Altar Rosary Society and Choir. She was a member of the Consolata Fathers Missionary Club, the North Brunswick Senior Citizens and the AARP. Her husband Bruno Zancanella died in 1995. Surviving are her daughter Maria Piparo and her husband Michael of Edison; her son Robert Zancanella and his wife Heliana of North Brunswick; six grandchildren – Lauren Santoli and her husband Joseph, Christopher Piparo, Jocelynn Zancanella, Mikayla Zancanella, Rachel Carroll Wysoczawski and her husband Krysz Wysoczawski and Gabriel Braga; and six great granddaughters – Adrianna, Natalie, Valentina, Brooklyn, Sophia and Emily. Visitation will be 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Monday at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick followed by a 10:30 AM Mass at St. Mary of Mount Virgin Church in New Brunswick. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.
