Obituary of Carl Robert Ecke

Carl Robert Ecke, Jr. died Monday, January 25, 2021, at his home in Milltown. He was 93. Born in Irvington to the late Carl R. Ecke Sr. and Winifred (Britton) Ecke, he lived in North Brunswick before moving to Milltown 65 years ago. Mr. Ecke was a diesel mechanic for Trap Rock Industries, LLC in Kingston for many years prior to his retirement. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. His wife Margaret Elaine (DeVoe) Ecke died in 2015. Surviving are three daughters – Susan Norrell and her husband Frederick of Milltown, Sandra Creighton and her husband James of Middlesex and Judith Comerford and her husband Thomas of Monroe Township; two sons – Carl Robert Ecke, III of Cream Ridge and Lawrence W. Ecke of Freehold; 17 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Graveside funeral services will be held 11:30 AM Saturday in Van Liew Cemetery in North Brunswick.
