Obituary of Karen S Buda

Karen S. (Oyama) Buda died Sunday, February 7, 2021, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. She was 75.
Born in Pahala, Hawaii to the late Minoru and Asae (Obyashi) Oyama, she lived in Hawaii, North Brunswick and California before returning to North Brunswick 36 years ago. She was a teacher for the Franklin Township Board of Education for over 30 years before retiring in 2002. She was a member of the New Jersey Education Association.
Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Ernest D. Buda; her son Daniel Buda of Somerset; two brothers – Donald Oyama of Pearl City, Hawaii and Allan Oyama of Kaneohe, Hawaii; and her sister Carol Nakashima of Hilo, Hawaii.
Private cremation was under the direction of Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. A gathering and memorial service will be planned in the future with the time and date to be announced.
