Obituary of Francis J Dunn

Francis J. "Frank" Dunn died Monday, February 15, 2021, at his home in Manalapan. He was 87. Born in New Brunswick to the late Frank and Anna (Feaster) Dunn, he lived in East Brunswick for 42 years before moving to Manalapan in 2014. He graduated from Sacred Heart Grammar School and St. Peter's High School in New Brunswick before entering into the family meat business, Dunn and Feaster Market, with his father which they operated for many years. He then went to work for the United States Postal Service in Camp Kilmer in Edison for 20 years before his retirement. Mr. Dunn served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958. He was assigned to the 80th Army Band at Fort Stewart, Georgia and participated in the marching, concert and dance bands. He was a member of the Local #204 of the American Federation of Musicians and his band, Frank Dunn and his Melody Makers, was known throughout central New Jersey. He was a communicant of St. Bartholomew R.C. Church in East Brunswick, a member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge #2370 in East Brunswick and the East Brunswick Senior Citizens. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his granddaughter Taylor. His wife Dolores A. (Bartholome) Dunn died in 2016. He was also predeceased by his baby brother Joseph Dunn and nephew Kevin Seitz. Surviving are his daughter Maureen A. Champagne and her husband Edward of Manalapan; his granddaughter Taylor Champagne; his sister Denise Seitz of Toms River; his nephew Keith Seitz and his wife Barbara of Texas; and his niece Kelly Leach and her husband Richard and their daughter Sierra of Manahawkin. Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Funeral services will be 9:15 AM from Selover Funeral Home followed by a 10:15 AM Mass at St. Bartholomew Church in East Brunswick. In lieu of flowers contributions in Frank's name may be made to the charity of one's choice.
