Obituary of Maria Santoro

Maria "Mary" (Farella) Santoro died Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at her home in North Brunswick. She was 95. Born in New York City to the late Gabriel and Angelina (Valenzano) Farella, she has lived in North Brunswick for most of her life. She worked for Ethicon division of Johnson and Johnson in Somerville for 25 years before her retirement. She was a member of the Ethicon Retirees Club. Mrs. Santoro was a communicant of St. Mary of Mount Virgin R.C. Church in New Brunswick and was a member of the church's Golden Age Club and St. Sebastian Post #405, Catholic War Veterans Auxiliary. She was also a member of the North Brunswick Pioneers Club and the Adams Athletic Club in North Brunswick. She was predeceased by her husband Cateno "Gotti" Santoro; her son Anthony M. Santoro; brothers – Angelo Farella, Ralph Farella and Joseph Farella; and sister Rose Caruso. Surviving are her daughter Marie Santoro of North Brunswick; her sister Louise Farella of North Brunswick; her brother Michael Farella and his wife Sandy of Brick; three grandchildren – Lisa Marie Konopka and her husband Greg, Anthony Michael Santoro, II and Justin Santoro; and two great grandchildren – Arianna Rose and Gregory David. Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Funeral services will be 9:45 AM Wednesday from Selover Funeral Home followed by a 10:30 AM Mass at St. Mary of Mt. Virgin Church in New Brunswick. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in New Brunswick.
