Obituary of Patricia Burke

Patricia (Mock) Burke died Sunday, April 11, 2021, at Community Medical Center in Toms River. She was 82. Born in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania to the late Michael and Jenny (Kizif) Mock, she lived in Highland Park before moving to North Brunswick over 50 years ago. She worked as a registered nurse in the cardiac care unit of St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick for 35 years and then for 10 years at Brunswick Cardiology in New Brunswick before her retirement in 2010. Mrs. Burke was a communicant of St. Mary of Mount Virgin R.C. Church in New Brunswick and was a member of some of the church's organizations. She was a member of the St. Peter's University Hospital Women's Auxiliary. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph B. Burke, in 2000; and by her son Kevin Burke in 2018. Surviving are her son Brian Burke and his wife Denise of Toms River; her sister Phyllis Kolley and her husband Chet of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; her sister-in-law Loriz Burke of Manalapan; a niece and four nephews. Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Funeral services will be 9:45 AM Friday from Selover Funeral Home followed by a 10:30 AM Mass at St. Mary of Mt. Virgin Church in New Brunswick. Burial will follow in Van Liew Cemetery in North Brunswick.
