Obituary of Vana Manis

Vana (Papadakis) Manis died Sunday, May 2, 2021, at her home in Monmouth Junction. She was 69. Born in Vamos, Greece to Emmanuel and Arieta (Mpotonakis) Papadakis, she lived in Piscataway before moving to the Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick in 1995. She was a dietician at Merwick Care and Rehabilitation Center in Princeton and Plainsboro before her retirement in 2012. Mrs. Manis was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Piscataway and was a member of the church's Philoptochos Society. Her husband, Constantine Manikopoulos, died in 2007. Surviving are three sons – Nick Manis and his wife Ioanna of Franklin Township, Peter Manis and his wife Samanta of Hoboken and Alexander Manis and his fiancée Kate of Monmouth Junction; her sister Eleni Manolakas of East Brunswick; her brother Nick Papadakis of Greece; and two grandchildren Sienna and Constantine. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1101 River Road, Piscataway followed by an 11:00 AM funeral service at St. George Church. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in North Brunswick. Arrangements are under the direction of Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick.
