Obituary of Charles Ridley

Charles Ridley, Jr. died Friday, May 21, 2021, at his home in Monroe Township. He was 79. Born in Mays Landing to the late Charles and Occie (Bryant) Ridley, he lived in Egg Harbor City before moving to Monroe Township 10 years ago. He was owner/operator of a trucking company, driving for Kensington Furniture in Northfield for 30 years before retiring in 2005. He was predeceased by his daughter Gladys Cottman. Surviving are his wife Janice (Alcorn) Ridley; four daughters – Shirley Jean Ridley of Newport News, Virginia, Charlotte Williams of Pleasantville, Stacy Cottman Newmones of Clayton and Margaret Adkins of Mays Landing; three sons – Tony Ridley, Charles Ridley, III and Eric Ridley all of New Jersey; his stepchildren – Deloris Cottman of Buffalo, New York and Kevin Cottman of Mays Landing; his sister Gertrude Ridley of Pleasantville; his brother Norman Clark of Glassboro; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews; and his close CBers near and far. Private cremation was under the direction of Selover Funeral Home in North Brunswick.
