Ethel May (Tinsman) Fate died Sunday, July 25, 2021, at Merwick Care Center in Plainsboro, New Jersey. She was 90. Born in Milltown, NJ to the late Russell and Elizabeth (Tharp) Tinsman, she was raised in North Brunswick, NJ and lived in East Brunswick NJ before moving to St. Petersburg, Florida where she resided for 34 years. She returned to Monroe Township, NJ in 2019 to live with her daughter, Joanne. She worked in the cafeteria of the East Brunswick School District for many years before moving to Florida where she retired in 2013 from the Dixie Hollands High School after working there for 10 years. Mrs. Fate had been a member of the Milltown Methodist Church in Milltown and the Aldersgate United Methodist Church in East Brunswick. She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and yard work. She was predeceased by her husband Carl Edward Fate in 2008; three children – Carl Fate, Jr. Maryanne Fate and Patricia Fate-Smith; and two brothers - Charles and Clifford TInsman. Surviving are her daughter Joanne Baird of Monroe Township; two sons – Robert Fate of St. Petersburg and Edward Fate and his wife Robin of New Port Richey, FL; her sister – Grace Farnham of North Brunswick; her brother John TInsman and his wife Dottie of Daytona Beach, FL; three beloved grandchildren – Joshua Fate, Nicole Fate and Brandon Fate and his wife Jimena; three beloved great grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews. Private cremation was under the direction of Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick.
