Please share a memory of Patricia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Patricia Frances (Puleio) Golino passed away on September 2, 2021 at her home in Huntersville, North Carolina at the age of 70. Patty was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey to the late Samuel M. and Lillian (Stewart) Puleio. She was raised in North Brunswick, NJ, attended New Brunswick High School and graduated from William Patterson College in Wayne, NJ with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a minor in Secondary Education. In 1973 she married Dominick Golino and moved to Newport News, Virginia. There she taught American Government and Personal Finance at Kecoughtan High School in Hampton, VA. In 1974 she moved back to New Jersey and began teaching American History from the Civil War to the Present at Hammarskjold Middle School in East Brunswick. While there she was also the Cheerleading Advisor which she thoroughly enjoyed. She left teaching in 1977 to stay home and raise her daughter Danielle. While raising her daughter Patty became a Class Mother and president of the PTA at John Adams Elementary School in North Brunswick. While her daughter was attending North Brunswick High School Patty and her husband acted as chaperones for a trip to Italy with the Italian Folk Dance Group. She was a member of the North Brunswick Women's Club and was involved in raising money for various local organizations. Taking advantage of her husband's work travel, she moved with him to England in 1999. Living in England gave her an opportunity to travel around Europe and attend her cousin's wedding in Greece. Upon returning from England in 2001 they settled in North Granby, Connecticut. From there her husband's work took her to Chesterfield, NJ and then finally Huntersville, NC where they have resided for the last 8 years. Patty had a love for cooking and entertaining family and friends which she inherited from her mother, Lillian. She was also an avid New York Yankees fan ever since her father, Sam, taught her the rules of the game. She looked forward to playing catch with him when he came home from work each day. As a kid she played hard ball with the boys and always played to win. She attended several Yankee games with her father and even saw Mickey Mantle hit a grand slam, one of her most treasured memories. Her love of the game never stopped even through all of her travels. She and her husband managed to attend at least one Yankee game at the Stadium every summer while living in North Carolina. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her father- in- law Rosario Golino. She is survived by her husband of 48 years Dominick Golino; daughter - Danielle Laws and her husband Jonathan of Denver, NC; beloved sister - Maryann Lawler and her husband Stewart of Bethesda, Maryland; mother-in-law – Rosina Golino of Troy, New York; sister-in-law – Prudence Pechenik and her husband Steven of Troy, NY; nieces and nephew – Karsyn Lawler, Jillian Lawler, Natalie Russell, Iris Pechenik, Jeffrey and his wife Laura Pechenik; as well as many cousins, aunts and uncle. Visitation will take place from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday, September 10, 2021 at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick with a memorial service to be held at 6:30 PM. Funeral services will be 9:15 AM Saturday from Selover Funeral Home followed by a 10:00 AM Mass at St. Mary of Mount Virgin Church, corner of Remsen Avenue and Sandford Street in New Brunswick. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in New Brunswick. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
