Obituary of Michael A. Marzigliano

Michael A. Marzigliano died Thursday, September 9, 2021, at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 85. Born in Brooklyn, New York to the late Frank and Rosaria "Sadie" (Nipitella) Marzigliano, he lived in Staten Island, New York for 43 years before moving to Somerset ten years ago. He was a computer programmer for Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation in New York City for over 20 years before retiring in 2000. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church in South Bound Brook and was a former communicant and usher at St. Patrick R.C. Church in Staten Island. He was a member of the Sons of Italy in Staten Island, enjoyed playing bocce and golf and was an avid reader. Mr. Marzigliano served in the United States Army in the late 1950s. He was predeceased by his daughter Michele Marzigliano in 1997; and by his brother Sal Marzigliano. Surviving are his wife of 55 years Grace (Prata) Marzigliano; his daughter Francine Pychewicz and her husband Rick of Edison; two sisters – Dottie Vitulli and Mary Ann Landolina, both of Florida; two grandchildren – Ric Pychewicz and Nicole Michele Pychewicz; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 122 High Street, South Bound Brook. Private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org or to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org.
