Obituary of Mary E Matt

Mary E. (Terefenko) Matt died Sunday, September 12, 2021, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. She was 78. Born in Elizabeth to the late Michael and Stacia (Filik) Terefenko, she lived in Port Reading for 25 years before moving to North Brunswick in 1998. She was a member of the North Brunswick AARP, Senior Center, Garden Club, Arts and Crafts Club, and Catch and Release Program. She was part of CERT - the Community Emergency Response Team and was a member of the Deer Brook Residents Association where she was a past co-president. Her husband James R. Matt died in 2003. She was also predeceased by her brother William Terefenko; and sister-in-law – Janet Terefenko. Surviving are two sons – Gregory Matt and his husband Philip Katz of New Hope, Pennsylvania and Michael Matt and his wife Jeanne of Howell; her brother Michael Terefenko of Middletown; four grandchildren – Michael Matt, Christian Matt, Brandon Matt and Keri Piazza and her husband Michael; and two great grandchildren – Riley and Jacob. Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday at Selover Funeral Home.
