Obituary of Arthur T DeGaetano

Arthur T. DeGaetano died Monday, October 11, 2021, at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 84. Born in Trenton to the late N. Thomas DeGaetano and Edythe M. (Antuzzi) DeGaetano Kiessling, he was raised and lived in East Brunswick before moving to North Brunswick in 1963. He was a math teacher at Sayreville Junior High School for 36 years before retiring in 1997. Mr. DeGaetano was a communicant of St. Mary of Mount Virgin R.C. Church in New Brunswick. He was a life member of the Milltown Rescue Squad and was a member of various education associations and many North Brunswick Township committees. He was a former township soccer and Little League Baseball coach. Surviving are his wife Lorraine (Pasternak) DeGaetano; three sons – Arthur DeGaetano and his wife Margaret of Freeville, New York, Kevin DeGaetano and his wife Kristine of Brick and Wayne DeGaetano and his wife Carolyn of North Brunswick; and seven grandchildren – Kaitlyn Eck and her husband Ben and Shane, Amy, Danielle, Kelly, Katie and Timmy DeGaetano. Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Funeral services will be 9:15 AM Friday from Selover Funeral Home followed by a 10:00 AM Mass at St. Mary of Mt. Virgin Church in New Brunswick. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Sayreville.
