Obituary of Florence M. Trzaska

Florence M. (Greger) Trzaska passed away Monday, November 1, 2021, at the Elms of Cranbury. Born in New Brunswick to the late Joseph and Catherine (Rupprecht) Greger, she graduated from New Brunswick High School. She and her late husband Bernie were the owners of Capitol Shoe Store in South River for many years before retiring and moving to Cape Coral, Florida in 1980. After living in Florida for 16 years Florence returned to reside in Woodmere, a senior housing complex in Spotswood. Florence was a communicant of Holy Trinity R.C. Church in Helmetta. In Florida she was active in the VFW Auxiliary and was a Lifetime Member of the American Legion. She was very active in the Spotswood Friends of the Office on Aging where she served for 10 years as vice president, secretary, parliamentarian and twice as president. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by everyone whose life she touched. She was predeceased by her husband Bernard M. Trzaska, Sr. in 1995; her brothers - Joseph Myers and John Greger; and her sisters – Kathryn Stellatella and Ellen Kosmowski. Surviving are her son Bernard "Mick" M. Trzaska, Jr. of Atlantic Highlands; her daughter-in-law Carol Rose Trzaska of Woodbridge; her grandson Michael Scott Trzaska and his wife Kisten of East Brunswick; and great grandchildren Shawn M. Trzaska and Kasey V. Trzaska of East Brunswick. Also surviving are James Rose, his wife Jena and their children Justin and Julia Mae of East Brunswick; Robert Rose, his wife Allison and their children JT and Lillianna of Staten Island; Jillian Bonicker and her son Jonathan of Woodbridge; her dear friend Barbara Trzaska of East Brunswick; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Friday at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick followed by an 11:00 AM service at Selover Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in North Brunswick. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Veteran of Foreign Wars, 33 Daniel Road, Spotswood, NJ 08884.
