Obituary of William N. Katona

William N. Katona died Monday, December 27, 2021, at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 93.

Born in Kingston, Pennsylvania to the late Julius and Julia (Munkatchy) Katona, he lived in New Brunswick before moving to North Brunswick in 1962. He was a machinist for Okonite Cable in North Brunswick for 33 years before retiring in 1990.

Mr. Katona was a member of the Bayard Street Presbyterian Church in New Brunswick.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Korean War.

Surviving are his wife Joan (Vanderburg) Katona; two daughters – Karen Boley and her husband Mitchell of East Brunswick and Kathy Roepke and her husband Michael of Parsippany; and four grandchildren – Jeffrey Boley of East Windsor, Melanie Boley of North Brunswick and Nicholas Roepke and Christopher Roepke, both of Parsippany.

Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Monday at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Tuesday at Selover Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Van Liew Cemetery in North Brunswick.
