Obituary of Phyllis C. Gaal

Phyllis C. (Lattanzio) Gaal died Monday, January 10, 2022, at her hime in North Brunswick. She was 83.

Born in Queens, New York to the late Ernest and Mary (Stettnisch) Lattanzio, she lived in Astoria before moving to North Brunswick over 50 years ago. She was an administrative assistant at Rutgers University in New Brunswick for 20 years before retiring in the 1990s.

Mrs. Gaal was a communicant of St. Mary of Mount Virgin R.C. Church in New Brunswick.

Her husband Warren W. Gaal died in 2006. Surviving are her daughter Karen Zimmerman and her husband Bill of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; her son Michael W. Gaal and his wife Denise of Spokane, Washington; two brothers – Thomas Lattanzio of Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania and John Lattanzio of New York City; and five grandchildren – Ashley Brown and her husband Robert of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Sean Zimmerman and his wife Victoria of Union, and Rachel Gaal, Ian Gaal and Harrison Gaal all of Spokane.

Visitation will be 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Friday, January 14, 2022, at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick followed by an 11:30 AM Mass at St. Mary of Mount Virgin Church in New Brunswick. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park in South Brunswick.
