Obituary of Nicola Mannino

Nicola Mannino died Thursday, February 3, 2022, at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 94. Born in Gualtieri Sicamino, Sicily, Italy, he immigrated to the United States in 1955. He had lived in Bronx, New York before moving to North Brunswick 28 years ago. He worked as a tailor in Manhattan and the Bronx before retiring in 1993 and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union and 32BJ Service Employees International Union. Mr. Mannino was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church in North Brunswick. He loved spending time with his family, gardening, Italian soccer and closely monitoring the stock market. His wife Maria Carmela (Calapa) Mannino died in 2011. He was also predeceased by his brother Francesco Mannino; and his son-in-law Salvatore Liguori. Surviving are two daughters - Nancy Liguori of North Brunswick and Rosalie Lucia and her husband Alfred of Northport, New York; his brother Antonino Mannino and his wife Maria of North Brunswick; seven grandchildren - Richard Liguori and his wife Monique, John Liguori and his wife Catherine, Marissa Vatsky and her husband Seth, Kristin Gristina and her husband Matthew and Victoria Buckley and her husband Benedict, Alfred Lucia and his wife Jennifer and Nicholas Lucia; and nine great grandchildren – Matthew, Andrew and Nathaniel Liguori, Alessandra and Christina Liguori, Michael, Jillian and Kaitlyn Gristina and Eliza Buckley. Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday, February 7, 2022, at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Funeral services will be 9:45 AM Tuesday, February 8, 2022, from Selover Funeral Home followed by a 10:30 AM Mass at Our Lady of Peace Church in North Brunswick. Entombment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick.
