Obituary of Peter W. Kormondy

Peter W. Kormondy died Monday, February 7, 2022, at JFK Medical Center in Edison, He was 77.

Born in New Brunswick to the late Albert and Margaret (Sillcocks) Kormondy, he lived in New Brunswick before moving to Spotswood in 1969. He was a lineman for PSE&G in New Brunswick for 25 years before retiring in 2001.

Mr. Kormondy was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion Post #177 in Old Bridge.

He cherished the time he spent with his granddaughter and enjoyed morning coffees with his son-in-law. He was an animal lover and would go out of his way to help a stray.

He was predeceased by his wife Cynthia L. (Barvincak) Kormondy in 2000; and by his brother Albert Kormondy. Surviving are his son Peter A. Kormondy of Spotswood; his daughter Denise Taylor and her husband Gary of Spotswood; his granddaughter Cynthia Ellen Taylor of Spotswood; his brother William Kormondy and his wife Mary of Pennsylvania; and his sister-in-law Patricia Kormondy of Florida.

Visitation will be 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM Monday, February 14, 2022, at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Selover Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in New Brunswick.
