Obituary of Hermione Drecolias

Hermione Drecolias died Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at her home in Edison. She was 91 years old.

Born in Kalo Nero, Kyparissia, Greece, she immigrated to the United States in 1968 and lived in Edison for over 40 years. Prior to her retirement, she had worked for Jersey Steel Containers in New Brunswick.

Hermione was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Piscataway. 

She is survived by her daughters who never left her side – Stacy Stoupas and her husband Stelios of Edison and Tina Makropoulos and her husband Dino of Edison; her sister Toula Sugleris of Edison; three grandchildren - Athena Lyristis and her husband George, Katy Makropoulos and Chris Makropoulos; two great grandchildren – Pano and Stelio; and many nieces, nephews and countless friends.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Thursday, March 24, 2022, at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1101 River Road, Piscataway with the funeral service to be held at 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will follow in Van Liew Cemetery in North Brunswick. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to https://www.jdrf.org/ for Type 1 Diabetes Research Funding and Advocacy. Arrangements are under the direction of Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick.
