Obituary of Lena Catherine Thomas

Lena C. Thomas died Saturday, June 11, 2022, at the New Jersey Eastern Star Home for the Aged in Bridgewater. She was 92. Born in Glasgow, Kentucky to the late Fred J. and Lizzie (Smith) Thomas, she lived in Kentucky and Ohio before moving to New Jersey in 2006. She was a retail clerk at Value City in Toledo, Ohio for many years before her retirement. She was a member of the Community Baptist Church of Somerset and the Ruth Chapter #12 of the Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving are her son Frederick R. Pollard, Jr. and his wife Ruth of Monmouth Junction; three daughters – Linda Kolibabzuk and her husband Michael of North Brunswick, Rachel Decker and her husband Michael of Whitesville, North Carolina and Grace "Polly" Pollard and Joseph Novosad of Boulder, Colorado; four grandchildren – David Pollard, Nick Daza, Keith Pollard and Shawna Zelko; and five great grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, June 17, 2022, at Van Liew Cemetery, 585 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Service are under the direction of Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick.
