Obituary of Steve Papp

Steve Papp peacefully passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022, at CareOne in East Brunswick. He was 91. Born in Ujfeherto, Hungary, he immigrated to the United States during the Hungarian uprising in 1956, settling in Highland Park, New Jersey. Always hard working, Steve held various jobs through the years including operating taxi cabs, a lawn service, Lichtman Liquors in New Brunswick and most notably as co-owner of Adam's Bar and Package Goods in Highland Park. When not working Steve could be found in the garden or working on his car. His wife Elsie (Bedi) Papp, who he met at a church picnic, died in 2014. Surviving are his two sons – Steve Papp of Freehold and Robert Papp and his wife Lisa of Quakertown, Pennsylvania. Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. A funeral service will be 10:00 AM Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Selover Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park in South Brunswick.
