Obituary of Jean O. Nevins

Jean (Oakes) Nevins died Monday, July 25, 2022, at University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro. She was 88. Born in Passaic to the late Alfred P. and Anna (Golis) Oakes, she lived in North Brunswick and Beachwood before moving to Millstone Township five years ago. She was a special education teacher at Conackamack Middle School in Piscataway for 38 years before retiring in 1995. Mrs. Nevins was longtime member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Somerset and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Beachwood. She was an avid bowler for many years. Her husband William A. Nevins died in 1995. Surviving are three daughters – Natalie Young and her husband Daniel of Millstone Township, Bonnie Doucette and her husband Andre of Tampa, Florida and Elissa Cavezza of Kingston, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren – Alexis Young of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Valerie and Donovan Young of Millstone Township, Sabrina, Rebecca and Nicole Cavezza of Kingston, Pennsylvania, Victoria Raphael and her husband Neema of New York City and Gabriella Doucette and her fiancé Shohei Tanoi of Aberdeen; and six great grandchildren. Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, July 29, 2022 at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Selover Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick.
