Obituary of Carmen J. Costa

Carmen J. Costa died Monday, September 19, 2022, at his home in North Brunswick. He was 93.

Born in New Brunswick to the late Frank and Antoinette (Riggio) Costa, he lived in New Brunswick before moving to North Brunswick in 1953. He was a service technician for Valentine's Office Equipment, Inc. in Trenton for over 40 years before he retired in 1993.

Mr. Costa was a communicant of St. Mary of Mount Virgin R.C. Church in New Brunswick. He was a member of the North Brunswick Italian American Club and the North Brunswick Senior Citizens. He was a United States Navy veteran having served as a radio operator on the destroyer USS Robert K. Huntington during the Korean War.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother Joseph Costa; and his sister Grace DeLuca. Surviving are his wife of 70 years Marguerite (Pultro) Costa; two sons – Carmen Costa and his wife Robin of Whiting and James Costa and his wife Linda of North Brunswick; his daughter Marguerite "Peggy" Costa of Somerset; six grandchildren – Philip Costa and his partner Sarina Murphy, Rachel Pietri, Michael Costa and his wife Katherine, Cassandra Wands and her husband Corey, Andrew Costa and his partner Sara Frister, and Jenny Pietri; and four great grandchildren – Isabelle, Cameron, Logan and Leland.

Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, September 23, 2022, at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Funeral services will be 8:45 AM Saturday, September 24, 2022, from Selover Funeral Home followed by a 9:30 AM Mass at St. Mary of Mt. Virgin Church in New Brunswick. Entombment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in New Brunswick.
