Obituary of James H. Stockburger

James H. Stockburger died on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at Complete Care of Holiday City in Berkeley Township, New Jersey. He was visiting his vacation home in Lavallette, NJ for a family reunion.
Born in Trenton on May 23, 1937, he lived most of his life in Milltown and Normandy Shores before moving to Newtown, Connecticut five years ago. He worked in the mail room of the New Jersey Turnpike Authority for 40 years before his retirement. In all that time he missed only one day of work.
Mr. Stockburger was a member of the Palestine Lodge #111 F. and A.M., now in Milltown. He was a cheerful, fun, outgoing person who was loved by his family and friends. His favorite pastime was doing word search puzzles.
He was predeceased by his father Hugo Stockburger, a former NJ State Police Major, and Elizabeth (Balogh) Stockburger. Several cousins survive him.
Visitation will be 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon on Monday, October 10, 2022, at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick followed by a 12:00 Noon funeral service. Burial will follow in Van Liew Cemetery in North Brunswick.
