Obituary of JoAnn Morelli

JoAnn G. (Verbalis) Morelli died Friday, December 9, 2022, at the home of her son in Manahawkin. She was 90. Born in Luzerne, Pennsylvania to the late Matthew and Frances (Guras) Verbalis, she lived in North Brunswick before moving to Manahawkin four years ago. Mrs. Morelli was a communicant of St. Mary of Mount Virgin R.C. Church in New Brunswick and was a member of the North Brunswick Senior Center. In her younger years she liked to frequent Atlantic City to play the slots. JoAnn was an avid sports fan and enjoyed rooting for and watching her favorite Philly teams. She loved to play bingo and dabbled in cross stitch and crocheting. Her husband Raymond L. Morelli died in 2017. Surviving are her son Raymond M. Morelli and his wife Lil of Manahawkin; her daughter Terri Brady and her husband Bill of Clayton; three grandchildren – Michael Morelli, Brianne Stec and her husband James and Rachael Micucci and her husband Victor; and three great grandchildren – Sterling, Aspen and Grason. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:15 AM Thursday, December 15, 2022, at St. Mary of Mt. Virgin Church in New Brunswick. Entombment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick. There will be no public visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Selover Funeral Home in North Brunswick.
