Obituary of Anthony Pappas

Anthony Pappas passed away on the morning of the Winter Soltice, December 21, 2022, in Albany, New York. He was 68 years old. Born in Troy, New York to the late Rev. Anthony Pappas and Frances Pappas, he was raised in Highland Park, New Jersey and lived there before moving to Bolton Landing 25 years ago. As a youth Anthony was an award winning wrestler. He became an accomplished stone mason. He was predeceased by his loved one Mary Marrone; his son Mark Pappas; and his brother Nicholas Pappas. Surviving are his son Christopher Pappas; his daughter Irene Pappas; two grandchildren – Gage and Marley Rose; three brothers – Mark Pappas, Paul Pappas, Sr., Michael Pappas; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. A funeral service will be 11:00 AM Friday, December 30, 2022 at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1101 River Road, Piscataway. Burial will follow in Van Liew Cemetery in North Brunswick.
