Obituary of Myron A. Pollard III

Myron Allen "Bucky" Pollard III passed away at his home in North Brunswick on December 29, 2022. He was 76. He was a lifelong resident of North Brunswick and graduated from New Brunswick High School in 1964 where he was awarded the prestigious Scholar Athlete Award. He excelled in baseball as a pitcher with 1st Team All County and 3rd Team All-State and in football with 2nd Team All Middlesex County credentials. He graduated from Rutgers University in 1968 and began a lifelong career in banking. He spent 17 years with The National State Bank of Elizabeth where he met the love of his life and soulmate, his wife of 39 years, Irene. He served as Accounting Officer with New Millennium Bank in New Brunswick before he retired in 2013. Bucky enjoyed baseball (which he played until age 50) and bowling. He served as the treasurer of the East Brunswick Open Bowling League for 38 years until the league disbanded in 2012. He also enjoyed fishing and boating and his shore house in Ocean Beach. Bucky was an avid fan of The Everly Brothers and The Moody Blues and he loved to sing and write songs for special occasions. Bucky was predeceased by his father, Myron A. Pollard Jr. who died in 2008 and his mother, Elsie R. Pollard who died in 2015. He is survived by his wife Irene (Sulocki) Pollard; his son Myron A. Pollard IV and his wife Ilisa of Doylestown, Pennsylvania; his son Daniel S. Pollard and his wife Katie of North Brunswick; his daughter Jennifer L. VanDorn and her husband Daniel of Upper Black Eddy, Pennsylvania and his grandchildren Ryan J. Pollard and Madelyn Rose Pollard of North Brunswick. His extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews, etc. will miss his hosting of family reunions. "Family" was extremely important to him. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Burial will follow in Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 from 4 PM to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to Popcorn Park, 1 Humane Way, Forked River, NJ 08731.
