Obituary of William W. Smith

William W. Smith died Friday, February 10, 2023, at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 87. Born in Wilkes, Barre, Pennsylvania to the late George and Fannie (Ashford) Smith, he has lived in North Brunswick for the past 60 years. He was a forklift operator at Okonite Cable in North Brunswick for 42 years before retiring in 1995. Mr. Smith was a member of St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in New Brunswick. He was a member of the Milltown Lodge #294 F. & A.M. and the Shriners Temple. He served in the United States Army toward the end of the Korean War. Surviving are his wife Nancy L. (Smalley) Smith; two sons – David Smith and his wife Joanna Harrison Smith of West Virginia and Mark Smith and his wife Renee of South Brunswick; and his granddaughter Kayla Smith. Visitation will be 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick followed by an 11:00 AM service at Selover Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Van Liew Cemetery in North Brunswick.
