Obituary of Robert A. Praskach

Robert A. Praskach died Saturday, March 18, 2023, at his home in Monroe Township. He was 87.

Born in Lamberton, Pennsylvania to the late Arras and Margaret (Kozosky) Praskach, he lived in New Brunswick before moving to Monroe Township 21 years ago. He was a graduate of Rider College and was the owner of Rutgers Service Center in New Brunswick and Somerset for over 30 years. Later he was associated with Allen's Automotive in Kendall Park for many years.

A sports enthusiast and Boston Red Sox fan, Robert was an avid softball player and formed many softball leagues in Franklin Township. Affectionately known as "Commissioner" he played and officiated in many of those leagues. He was also involved with Parks and Recreation in Franklin Township and was an associate member of the VFW, Post #9111 in Kendall Park. He served in the National Guard in the early 1960s.

He was predeceased by his daughter Theresa Lynn Praskach in 2016; and by his brother Arras Praskach, Jr. Surviving are his wife Jane (Loudenbeck) Praskach; his daughter Cynthia Tenaglia and her husband Alfred of Hamilton; his son Thomas Praskach and his wife Lisa of Tennessee; his stepson William Moyer and his wife Camalia of North Carolina; his stepdaughter Deborah Coyle and her husband Rock of North Carolina; his brother James Praskach and his wife Cindy of Kendall Park; 12 grandchildren including Jamie Poore of New Mexico; and seven great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday, March 23, 2023, at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, March 24, 2023 at Selover Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Clover Leaf Memorial Park in Woodbridge.
