Obituary of Patrick J. Thomson

Patrick John Thomson November 1, 1951 - March 27, 2023

Patrick "Pat" John Thomson age 71 of Eatontown, NJ passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, March 27, 2023. He was born in Middletown, NY to the late Daniel and Winifred Thomson. Pat's longtime partner, Marcia Winters recently passed away on June 4, 2022. He was predeceased by his brother William and sister Sarah Gilligan.

Pat is survived by a son, Patrick Ian (Janeth), daughters, Elizabeth Marie Podolski (Matthew) and Alison Jeanne Meshinski (Christopher), his twin brother, Michael (Debbie) and 11 grandchildren: Patrick, Corinne, Natalie, Cadence, Alexander, Kevin, Maggie, Kyle, Caroline, Clara, and Christian. Pat was also blessed with many nieces and a nephew.

Pat was a loving father and grandfather who loved soccer and playing the guitar. He was known for his keen sense of humor. His favorite memories were of times spent at the family cabin on Church Pond in the Adirondack Mountains. While there, he fished and enjoyed canoeing from the time he was a boy and throughout his adult life. Pat enjoyed sharing his knowledge of nature with his children and grandchildren.

Pat was a long time employee of Monmouth University where he recently retired. One of the perks of his job was being able to travel with the athletic teams. He had the opportunity to visit many different places while supporting the students and attending the games.

Patrick J. Thomson will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and loved ones. Following cremation, the family will have a private celebration of his life.
